Our Beginnings

Our original founders are Tampa natives who have been self-employed for their entire lives. They started out running various small businesses in the Tampa area. They have been involved in everything from painting and demolition work to commercial janitorial services and even a local carwash. Our core values, even in the early days, were always about putting the customer first and delivering results.


During the Great Recession of 2009, our founders, along with so many other businesses suffered severe setbacks and losses of revenue. Many of our revenue streams were tied to easily discarded B2B ventures such as janitorial services. Commercial and residential construction had also flatlined making painting and demolition projects few and far between. Something had to change, or the business would fail. 


Leaving no stone unturned they searched for work anywhere they could. The following year they found the opportunity they were looking for. That year was the beginning of something new, something bigger and as it turns out something far more sustainable than any of the previous businesses they operated.


We were introduced to Amazon and the E-Commerce marketplace in 2010 during the construction of the CHA1 facility in Chattanooga, TN. Our initial contract with Amazon was commercial cleaning of a 1,000,000+ Sq./ft facility. In typical fashion we weren’t going to stop there. Once linking up with Amazon we began to add services and expand inside their ecosystem of approved vendors.


In an almost miracle moment, we started working with Amazon at the onset of the great E-Commerce expansion. The recession had bankrupted many traditional retailers, but this wasn’t slowing Amazon down at all. With nothing but hard work and determination we aligned ourselves with our customer and started solving problems with them. In time we were able to master the high degree of standardization they required and replace the majority of their skilled labor vendors with a single suite of services.


The rest as they say is history. From 2010 to 2019 we have continued to grow into a major player in the E-Commerce industry at large. No longer supporting only Amazon, GEBM has worked with several fortune 500 companies and many other E-Commerce startups that are venturing out of the garage and into a full-fledged fulfillment center. Moving into the 2020’s we have our sights set even higher. We have become a licensed General Contractor in 15 states and are also moving into government contracts.
